About Us

Brindle is a device aimed to the visibly impaired. The goal of this project is to aid others to read books in braille in a more convenient way. In addition, it may also lead to a future where this technology can be adapted and implemented in other devices.

The demo below was programmed in javascript to translate English into braille. The code will detect letter, number and symbols and turns each character into braille. As it translates the text into braille, each dot in braille is connected to a unique id. This will be then used to pop the pins upward on the Brindle.
